And relax …..

Day 7 by the pool outside Marrakech

Another night round the campfire last night with beef stew, great conversation and flapping of washing up.

With earplugs firmly installed and our tent nowhere near anyone who snores, our camp site here is lovely.

We’ve located our tent between the orange trees, just over the path from the olive trees dropping big fat black olives onto the path.

Having visited Marrakech in the past, today is a rest and repair mattress day beside the other great feature of this campsite.

However, as always on a trip like this, the universe has plans of its own and the overhead electrical wires have just exploded. We have no power now and depending on the effect of this on our hot water availability, perhaps we are closer to bush camping after all.

To all of our great surprise, people actually turned up to fix the electricity today!

The rest of the day was just a lazy getting to know our fellow travellers and naming the truck. Technically, the name written on the door is Fjola as she has come from Iceland. However the driver said he couldn’t read that properly and it looked like Fiona which was much easier. I wholeheartedly agreed and suggested that Fiona is a great name. To (mis) quote Casablanca – here’s looking at you kid (sister).

The camping fire has also improved, if that were possible, with ventilation holes added at the bottom courtesy of Mark and the driver.
